Acadia National Park, Maine

We were heading back to the US for the summer. Before returning to Evanston and starting my summer camps, we would visit Maine (for lobsters) and NYC (for apples?!) Here we come!

We enjoyed a nice four days three nights trip in the Acadia National Park and got the chance to see how fishermen catch lobsters and enjoyed lobster feasts. Also, we had a great time walking around the lakes in a very calming and relaxing atmosphere.

My favorite restaurant

My favorite restaurant in Taipei is 新都里, which I called “Bamboo restaurant”. I always eat a lot and enjoy their sophisticated presentation there. Thanks so much to my grandpa and grandma.

Weekend getaway

Grandpa took us to a newly open luxury hotel (福容大飯店漁人碼頭, http://www.fullon-hotels.com.tw/?Ms=374&Lsn=1&Psn=5341) in Danshui for the weekend. This resort is of a cruise ship shape, and has fantastic view of Danshui river entering to the sea. It also offers hot springs spa, which we enjoyed very much. The rate is very high, and the infrastructure is good while the service has room for improvement.

寶貝阿姨生日

We returned to Taiwan just in time for the birthday of 寶貝阿姨. Yummy strawberry cheese cake! Happy Birthday, 寶貝阿姨!

School performance rehearsal

We had a rehearsal for tomorrow’s annual school art festival and graduation ceremony. Due to school’s last minute date change, I will not be able to attend the event as we are leaving for Taiwan this afternoon. What happened is some high-rank officers decided to use the hall to celebrate CCP’s 90th birthday 2 weeks ago after the school made the final announcement of the performance date. It’s a pity but a good example of how the political party is superior with no room for negotiation in China. The school was “kind” enough to host this extra rehearsal for international division parents after bad communication and damage control. Although mom had been feeling sour, she still came to school to enjoy my performance.

揚州 trip during 端午節

Yangzhou is a very beautiful city. Not only has it fewer tourists than other big cities, but also it is cleaner and more friendly. Its famous gardens such as 個園 and 何園 are reflecting in old time, how rich people who accumulated wealth by shipping salts in Yanzi river lived. 瘦西湖 is one of the major tourist POI. 揚州扦腳 is quite interesting but may have huge hidden charge for tourists--so be cautious.

Jolene in wig

We are practicing Jackson's Five's ABC song for school's annual performance. Each of us tried this wig on and had photo taken. Wait until you see mine!
